Chapter Three, Part One

When the girl, whose name was Amelia and whose not-makeup was made to look like vines, came round the decided to carry on down stream, but even after half an hour there was still no sign of anyone. Then someone cleared their throat behind them. They spun round and there was another girl, a few years older than any of them. "Good day," she said "my name is ?Tamara?, and I have been sent to give you a lecture, on how to use your new powers properly." There was a stunned silence, then marina asked "err, what powers?"
"That" said ?Tamara?, a little exasperatedly, "is what the lecture is about. Now, if you will please follow me, I will take you to the test chambers." and to their surprise she turned around and headed back the way they had come. When they reached the top of the hill they saw that the bit of road they had started at now went strait through a small village, "That wasn't there before" cried Marina. "Yes it was" replied Tamara, "you just couldn't see it there is an invisibility spell on it, just in case of intruders."
"Come off it!" scoffed Alicia, "You really expect us to believe that?"
"I must admit" said Tamara, "I was a little skeptical myself when I arrived, but you must be as open minded as possible." By this time they had reached a square with a white marble fountain in the middle, it had four children, two girls and two boys, around a plinth with a fifth child on, the children around the plinth were the fountain part, but only one - one of the girls - spouted water. The other girl had flames coming from her finger tips, another grew vines and the last one blew the air so hard that it was visible. Away on the other side of the square was a building which looked like a town hall only much bigger, Tamara was heading towards it, "Just in here," she called to them, "come on." Theresa tore her eyes away from the fountain and hurried over to Tamara. Inside she found herself in front of another door with corridors branching out on either side of her,
Tamara turned right hurried down the corridor

Chapter Two, Part One

When Theresa came round, she definitely wasn't in the same place as before. She was on a cobbled road  with fields either side, one end of the road finished on a beach with waves lapping on the shore and a stream running into the sea, and the other end of the road disappeared over a hill. Further up the road was a girl with a very fancy blue dress, and elaborate make up over her left eye. As Theresa started walking towards her, she became aware that she to was wearing a fancy dress witch was very light and floaty, and when she looked in the stream, she saw that she also had make up over her left eye, it was silver and gold with pretty swirly patterns. When she looked up she found the girl had come to meet her, she was very tall and she had long ginger hair which was loose down her back, and her make up was made to look like waves. "Hi I'm Marina," she spoke in an Australian accent, "who are you?"
"I'm Theresa, have you got any idea were we are, or why we are wearing silly clothes and make up?" she asked. "Nope," Marina replied. Just then another girl fell out of the sky, she appeared to be unconscious. Marina and Theresa rushed over to see if she was alright, she looked as if she had been in a fire, her arms and face were scorched and her clothes were burnt rags. But as they watched, her skin returned to a healthy colour, her clothes re-formed and became a dress not unlike there own only red and yellow, and make up blossomed over her left eye, it was made to look like flames. Marina looked thoughtful "It looked like this girl was in a fire and her make up looks like flames," she said, "and I got caught in a tsunami and my make up looks like a wave. Has anything like that happened to you recently?" "Well I got swept off my feet in a hurricane a few hours ago," Theresa replied, "my make up could be representing wind. If it even is make up that is, I don't think eye shadow usually paints itself on to people."
"Good point," Marina replied, "why don't we see if it will come off." the two girls rubbed and rubbed at there eyelids but nothing came off on there hands, and when they looked in the stream they saw that it hadn't even smudged. Just then the fire girl woke up, she saw Theresa and Marina straight away, "Where am I and who are you?" she asked, she had an American accent, "and why am I wearing this dumb dress?"
"I'm Marina, this is Theresa and we have no idea where we are. You just fell out of the sky looking all burnt, then you stopped looking burnt, your clothes turned into that dress and make up which won't come off appeared above your eye, and that's all we know." Marina explained "And I don't suppose you would like to tell us who you are?" Theresa added. "I'm  Alicia" she said. then the fourth girl fell out of the sky, she was covered from head to toe in the most disgusting grey-brown slime, "ewww" squealed Alicia, staring disgustedly at the gunk, "what's that"
"It's a girl, Alicia" replied Marina, "I meant what's on the girl," said Alicia, her voice becoming cool. While they were arguing Theresa watched as muck vanished off the girl and her clothes became a beautiful green dress, and although Theresa could not see, as the girl was lying face down on the cobbles, she would have bet anything in the world that elaborate make-up had just appeared over the girl's left eye.

Chapter One, Part One

She'd had been destined for it ever since she was born, but she had no idea until she died.
It was a perfectly ordinary Thursday morning and Theresa Roberts was out shopping, she had pale brown hair and blue-grey eyes, she looked at her list: milk, eggs, flour and bananas.  It was nearly her tenth birthday and her mum was making the cake, she was quite looking forward to being in double figures. By this time she had almost reached the shop, and then the storm struck. The weather forecast said the storm wouldn't come for several days, and although her family had prepared for the storm the shop had not. She rushed into the shop hoping to find shelter, only to find a crowd being shepherded out. She asked a scared looking woman what was going on, "The shop hasn't been secured for the storm, so they've had to evacuate," she replied, "If the storm is strong enough, the shop could collapse on top of us." Theresa quickly joined the throng of people heading towards the closest of the neighboring fields, but Theresa, who had considerably shorter legs than most of them, was lagging behind. Suddenly there was a huge gust of wind and Theresa was literally swept off her feet, for one second she felt lighter than air, then she came back down to earth with a sickening crunch.
